#10 - Jim & Jerry, Bartram Place, Glenwood Park
SPONSORED BY THE SHED AT GLENWOOD

While Jerry and Jim were living in a condominium in Midtown in 2006, some of their neighbors moved to Glenwood Park, so one Sunday afternoon, Jerry and Jim decided to drive down and check it out. Falling in love with the area and the urban concept of Glenwood Park, they picked out a townhome while it was under construction and were able to add their personal touches. Jerry and Jim were impressed with Glenwood Park’s new urbanism concept where neighbors share green spaces and the houses are closer together, promoting interaction with others in the community.

A departure from the normal townhouse design, Jerry and Jim’s kitchen, dining and living room areas are on the 3rd floor, with two bedrooms on the 2nd floor. The 1st floor has the garage, an office, and a full bath. Carrying groceries to the 3rd floor could be a dreaded task if it weren’t for the convenience of an elevator that accesses all four floors of the home. It’s also great for carrying luggage and vacuum cleaners, and their beloved miniature schnauzer Gracie considers it a personal toy, loving to ride in it any chance she gets.

Their new townhome also provided the outdoor living areas they had been missing in their Midtown high-rise unit. The first thing you will notice about Jerry and Jim’s home is the oasis garden courtyard. The courtyard provides just enough outdoor space to use their green thumbs but not so much that its upkeep can be daunting.

The open floor plan on the 3rd floor was a selling point. Jerry and Jim like to entertain, so the kitchen design and large counters allow for guests to sit and chat while dinner is being prepared.

There is also a bistro-like balcony on the third floor. You might find Jerry and Jim having coffee here on weekend mornings, listening to the fountain below and greeting neighbors headed to the nearby coffee shop, or sipping a glass of wine there in the evening.

Be sure to check out the roof-top deck on the fourth floor. There’s a small sitting area with a refrigerator inside, and a large deck area that overlooks Bartram Street and has a great skyline view of Atlanta.
