#6 - Mario & Jennifer, Pershing Street, Boulevard Heights
SPONSORED BY BARBECUE KITCHEN, COLLEGE PARK

Jennifer and Mario were living in a bungalow in Grant Park when they decided to move into their new home in Boulevard Heights. While the lure of closet space was always present, they were also excited to be able to pick out the various features for their home and make some changes to the floor plan.

The first thing you’ll notice when you walk through the front door is the open floor plan. Always up for throwing a party, Mario and Jennifer altered the original designs to allow for the living room, dining room, and kitchen to be open. The keeping room off the kitchen was originally intended to be a bedroom, but they opened that as well, making the first floor open except for the office off the living room.

You’ll also notice the exposed beams and the extra details picked out in the kitchen, such as the cool back splash, the onyx pendant lights from Mexico, the great sink and in the dining room the cool candle chandelier. And there are two fireplaces on the main floor.

With their two boxers Kaiser and Harley, Mario and Jennifer moved into the home last year but already felt at home before moving in. Jennifer’s grandfather actually grew up on nearby

Bryan Street, and her great-grandfather was one of the pastors at Park Avenue Baptist Church in Grant Park, so it felt like coming home.

Be sure to check out the fun sink in the half-bath on the main level and the great granite counter tops they hand picked for the master bath on the 2nd level.

Future plans call for finishing the basement as a fun entertaining area, and since they’ve lived in their home for less than a year, there are still more furnishings and new pieces on order and in the making.
